About the event

Amanda, a beautiful and extremely talented MofM member, shares her knowledge in a casual and relaxed environment.

From Amanda:

'I can't promise to have all the answers as we are all very different as you know but there are fundamental and similar traits that we all share. I will be giving a different perspective that a neurotypical person may not have thought of.

The Autistic language and way of being is just second nature to me so that is why I hardly meet hurdles with my own autistic children as we share the same neurology so everything just makes more sense to me of what their needs are at that moment in time.

I often think about neurotypical parents almost walking in to a chaotic war zone of uncertainty and not quite understanding how to navigate next. It can be a very isolating and scary position to be in which usually ends up with parents usually blaming themselves and living in shame and feeling like they aren't enough.

If I can turn frustrations in to knowledge and maybe shine some happiness, hope and confidence then whatever way to reach out to those in need is fine with me'.
